From Boise, Idaho, this indie rock band began their musical ventures in 1992. With seven released albums, they are quite a successful indie band that you've probably never heard of. Built to Spill has been acknowledged as a significant influence to other bands such as Modest Mouse and Death Cab For Cutie, all three of which are part of the Northwest sound -- an American indie rock movement that developed in the early 90s. They have a great euphonic sound with songs both upbeat and mellow. You may or may not have heard the track, "Strange," from the Ancient Melodies of the Future album.
